Municipal Water Supply Installation

Revolutionizing Large-Volume Water Access
DeWind One-Pass Trenchers are perfectly suited for providing large-volume water access to municipalities.
Access to large quantities of water is critical for municipalities. DeWind’s Horizontal Well Systems provide an efficient solution for delivering thousands of gallons of water per minute – which addresses a critical challenge faced by industries that are reliant on large-scale and dependable water access.
What DeWind Offers
DeWind’s Municipal Water Supply Installation system unlocks previously untapped shallow groundwater resources – unrestricted by government regulations on deep-water wells. These systems provide a legal, efficient, and sustainable way to access water close to the surface.
With DeWind’s innovative technology, large reserves of shallow groundwater, typically 20-50 feet below the surface, can now be utilized without depleting deeper aquifers. This allows for dependable water access.
How DeWind Does It
DeWind’s Municipal Water Supply systems use advanced technology to achieve efficient water capture and distribution:
- One-Pass Installation: The Well Riser (Sump) is installed using DeWind’s One-Pass Trencher at the designated location. The well Sump is released from the trencher, and the trencher operator starts trenching away from the vertical well sump. During trenching, the in-situ native soils are removed and the trench is simultaneously backfilled with the Engineer’s backfill of choice (e.g., C-33 sand). Slotted HDPE pipe is concurrently placed at the bottom of the trench in the same single pass. This seamless installation process occurs under the water table without any open excavation.
- Shallow Aquifer Tapping: The horizontal slotted pipe extends over significant lengths at depths of up to 50 feet. The trench backfill has a higher average permeability than surrounding soils, ensuring that the trench becomes a groundwater “sink” and that the collection pipe remains in the saturated zone. This maximizes water capture from shallow aquifers all while avoiding the need for filtration.
Why DeWind Excels
DeWind’s Municipal Water Supply Installation systems stand out as a game-changer for industries needing large-scale water access:
- Simplicity and Efficiency: The One-Pass installation process saves time, reduces costs, and is durable.
- Proven Performance: These systems have been successfully installed across the United States, helping municipalities, and other industries meet their water needs.
Key Features & Benefits
- High-Volume Water Supply: These systems can deliver thousands of gallons of water per minute.
- Environmentally Friendly: By targeting shallow aquifers, DeWind’s systems preserve deeper aquifers and promote sustainable water use.
- Legal Compliance: These systems are approved for use in most states and are designed to adhere to water rights laws & well regulations.
- Reduced Maintenance: The use of permeable backfill and horizontal collection pipes minimizes clogging and eliminates the need for complex filtration systems.
