Supporting Army Readiness Through Environmental Restoration

DeWind was proud to contribute to the U.S. Army’s Environmental Restoration Program which is a global initiative aimed at remediating hazardous contamination and unexploded ordnance (UXO) on military installations. These projects help return Army land to a usable condition, enabling critical training and construction efforts – and managed under the Defense Environmental Restoration Program (DERP).

At Fort Huachuca, Arizona, where a planned UAV maintenance facility uncovered buried landmines during an archaeological survey – rapid mobilization of cleanup teams, including DeWind personnel and technology, ensured safe removal of UXOs and kept the mission on track.

Each cleanup project supported Army readiness by enabling safe land reuse and reducing long-term environmental risk. These multi-agency efforts, guided by USAEC and driven by innovative environmental engineering solutions, shows ongoing commitment to protecting public health and advancing sustainable defense infrastructure.
